The P/R Distinction

The R-world is slowly being uncovered through the good efforts of physicists. Its best expression is in the form of mathematical equations, and it describes the structure of the universe. It is "real", but entirely non-anthropocentric. We find nothing there that relates directly to everyday experience.

The P-world is the subjective world of phenomenal experience. It is the world as perceived and the perception thereof. It is both Personal and Private. I have one, and so do you. They are natural phenomena, arising within the R-world, but they need to be understood on their own terms.
