The Hologram Analogy
Jim and Nora sit in identical, but distinct, rooms. Each is fitted out exactly like the other. In Jim’s room, there is a hologram of Nora, just as there is a hologram of Jim in Nora’s room. Now Jim and Nora can converse, pointing to this or that, as if they were actually in a shared room. By and large, they need not be aware of the distinctness of their respective rooms. So it is too with P-worlds.
If Hologram Jim could pick up a teapot in Real Nora’s cabin, the analogy would be stronger.
